Better

April 28, 2008

I feel a lot better now. It’s taken a long time but i’m finally over my flu. We took the boys up to Brimham Rocks yesterday when it stopped raining. They absolutely loved it but it made me a bit nervous to see them clambering all over dangerous rocks. We’ve taken them before but only when they were very young so it made a nice change for them. I’ve been too ill to play with them really so they’re glad to have me back!

Shiny New Rooms

April 23, 2008

I cleaned the house at the weekend and i’m so pleased that the newly-decorated rooms look fantastic. It’s so nice to come home to a clean house, I really noticed it on Monday when I went to work. What’s even better is that the window cleaner’s been round so all the windows are sparkling too. He’s quite expensive though and Mr. Abbot was saying that it would be cheaper to just do it ourselves; apparently you get get one of those window poles that the window cleaner uses quite cheaply.

To be honest I thought there was a bit more involved in being a window cleaner, but it just shows what I know!

I’m a bit bunged up with a cold so not feeling too chipper today. There’s no rest for the wicked though, I have to take the boys swimming later and there’s an enormous pile of ironing with my name on it!

Painting

April 10, 2008

There was luckily enough paint to finish the bedroom; the only trouble is that now it smells like paint! It will go in a few days, but sleeping there really is an interesting experience.

More Linen

April 9, 2008

I got some more cheap linen this morning for the spare room. We’ve never really done anything with it to be honest (it currently houses a bare bed and an ironing board) but it’s about time to make the room look nice.

Decorating The Bedroom

April 8, 2008

I’m new to this blogging lark, so I thought I’d start by saying what I’m up to. I’m not at work today; I’m at home decorating the bedroom. I’ve got some brilliant cheap luxury bedding from an online shop. It was far less than I’ve seen on the high street and when the walls are painted it’ll match them beautifully (it’s a sort of minty green and the walls will be creamy-beige). Painting is hard work though so I’ve taken a break!
